Seachtain na Gaeilge
14th Mar 2025
We enjoyed every minute of Seachtain na Gaeilge! We learned about the life of St. Patrick and took turns hot-seating different children in the role of Patrick as he tended to sheep as a slave in Antrim. We listened to the stories 'Peppa Pig Goes to Ireland' and 'Cití agus an Scáthán'. We practised the 'Shoe the Donkey' dance and took part in the whole school céilí on the yard. We learned the chorus of 'Ireland's Call' as Gaeilge and joined in with the other classes to perform it at assembly. We also painted shamrocks and made leprechaun masks which went nicely with our English poem 'I'm a Little Leprechaun'. On Friday for Lá Glas, the children looked fantastic in all the different shades of green!
