One of the Junior Infant girls brought in her Julia Donaldson book 'Jonty Gentoo' to share with us as it's not one that we have in our school library. We loved hearing about Jonty's adventures so much that we decided to link our learning by researching some interesting penguin facts- we learned that gentoo penguins are the third largest penguins in the world and they are the fastest swimmers of all penguins! We also completed a penguin cut-and-paste activity and had great fun waddling like penguins around the classroom.
