The Junior and Senior Infants are thoroughly enjoyed taking part in Lego League. Working together as a team, the children listened to each other’s ideas, shared responsibilities, and collaborated creatively to design and build their own excavation site using Lego.
They carefully planned the different layers of the ground, from the grassy surface to the layers underneath, and included “fossils” and archaeological finds hidden below. The children then discussed and designed safe ways to excavate the bones and artefacts, just like real archaeologists.
This activity encouraged teamwork, communication, problem-solving, creativity, and imaginative thinking, while also giving the children a fun hands-on learning experience.
