Creative February

28th Feb 2025

As part of Creative February, Ms. Griffin and the Creative Committee challenged us to get creative with Lego and to design and build something based on the theme of Spring. We had made lots of rabbits, ducks, eggs, daffodils, lambs, nests etc. on our Spring playdough mats so we were well prepared! The children made daffodils, baby animals on a farm, a Spring garden, eggs in a nest, an Easter egg hunt, frogs in a pond etc. We presented our Spring-themed Lego creations to the 1st and 2nd class children. Ms. Griffin's class came around to each table to listen to the Juniors and Seniors as they described what they had made. This was a nice way of getting the infants comfortable with speaking in front of others and building their confidence. The 1st and 2nd classes were incredibly kind and encouraging. They even invited us back down to their classroom a few days later to show us the incredible creations that they had come up with!

Also pictured is one of our 6th Class boys who treated us to a riveting story about a man who went out to sea on a boat. He very creatively represented key points in the story by folding a sheet of paper into various shapes/ objects as he spoke!
