A Scientist visits Mulhussey

First, Second, Junior and Senior class were privilaged to meet Scientist Rebecca O'Grady.  Ms Kearns had organised this special visitor to come in and talk to our pupils about being a scientist and to answer some of our questions.  We learnt a lot from her.  She told us about the things she investigates such as blood, wee and poo!  She told us that scientists have different interests and her interest is in babies.  She explained that to look at blood, they dye it purple and it is put on a small glass slide so they can look at it closely through the microscope.  Everyone got a chance to have a very close look at the blood samples through her microscope.
